Initially I was using a WordPress subdomain for my site and redirecting the antonyellis.co.nz URL to antonyellis.wordpress.com . Now I am officially hosted away from WordPress I have exported out this content and won’t be updating there again.
Exporting was really straightforward. All I lost exporting was some links. I have updated my WordPress theme to one that lets me use lots more plugins at the same time.
Is Twitter going to be useful for New Zealand business or is it a fad? In my day job I have been delighted to have generated some extra business and made some good contacts using Twitter – you can follow us at NZPrints. However the downside is the distraction that comes from following other people who post lots of interesting links!
Even if Twitter turns out to be a fad or a step toward something more significant I think it is worthwhile for New Zealand business owners or professionals to spend time marketing themselves or their products via Twitter. It is not just about promoting what you offer it is also a great way to keep up with what other people are saying about topics that are important to you to.
